Love.

I love heart graffiti and have been taking photos of it for years. In the beginning of my blog I dedicated Tuesdays to these hearts and all moments of love.

This year I decided to start playing along and hung some of my heart art up in Toronto. The first one was in Kensington Market and the second one was taken down before I could even get a photo. I like to think someone took it home rather than took it down.

My third piece was hung up near Church Street.

love art - churchI have not really had a relationship with Church Street for the past 6 years but for the first 8 it was an important part of my life. In 2000 I arrived here after a year of travelling and found myself living near Church and Maitland for the first month and then in 2006 when I came back to live after a year of travelling, I again found myself on Church Street.  In the years 2000 – 2005, I partied there, met girls there, opened up and managed a Flight Centre and found out that it can be a really wonderful thing to be a gay person.

So this is my gift of thanks to a Street that showed me a lot of love.

I love you. Call me.

heart-phoneboothI have always loved December. I am super fortunate and have a really amazing family and a brilliant group of friends. This is the month where I get to talk to and see a lot of people that I don’t get to see as often as I would like to.  Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Trade Toronto

Back when I thought this was going to be an online store I went around scooping up hot plates to make them into dry erase boards. I never did get around to the store, life happened, but I did keep the hot plates. I have always thought they were too pretty to not be shown as usable art.

This trade

Me – finally get to do a guerrilla art installation in the city I live in

You – a free and awesome Christmas gift ?!?

First step: Hang out with two good friends after a work function and measure out and drill screws in.

Street Hearts for June 3

mac and cheese heartMy grandmother made the best macaroni and cheese. That talent skipped my mom and landed on my sister. She now is the holder of that title.

Medicine Man for May 9

Today I was going to talk about my results from the Natural Shampoo and Conditioner I was using. What I realized is that I don’t wash or condition my hair that often so in two weeks my sample size is too smallI to tell if this is right for me. What I can tell you is that it felt amazing. Different than regular shampoo and conditioner but definitely doing what they needed to.

Then I was going to tell you about my Oil Pulling results. Nothing to report here as it seems I don’t really do anything consistently. But again felt great and will add it to my life, on occasion.

Neither really motivated me to type last night so now what I am going to post today is something I did not see coming. I was in Kensington Market today and checked out my heart graffiti and to my awe I saw this. my kensington heart

The last time I saw them they looked like this.heartk5

Someone went there and cleaned up my hearts and added their own. I cannot even tell you how magical that was for my heart.

Medicine Man for March 28

I found this board leaning against a Shopper’s Drug Mart in the East end. I loved it at first sight. A few cuts later and the addition of one awesome dusty convenience store window trinket, bookends were born.

There is nothing better than sitting next to someone you love and reading.

Medicine Man for March 21

The Street Hearts posts began on March 26, 2013 with my favourite one of all, this guy. I wanted to take him home but thought that would be selfish so instead I slowly watched posters go up all over him and then one day the wall was broken and all traces of him gone.

Forever .. right??? Nope. So 1 year later I have gone back and added some of my own love. I am going to pop by Kensington Market every so often to see what happens with what I put up. I like the idea of letting go and seeing what other people do to my words and heart.
