I have wanted one of those glass, metal, fake wood, gas fireplaces for my apartment for a while. Combination of clean lines, good design and my prairie upbringing where winter time meant the fireplace was burning away. Luckily, while rummaging around Value Village I stumbled upon this find. I tried to like it in black but just couldn’t. My good friend Chua said they looked more like they belonged at a 1980’s cocaine party then in my home. So with that perfect description (no offence if you think it should have remained black), I bought some glossy dark brown spray paint, grabbed some sand off of the near by water front and have ordered some test tubes and wicks. If all goes well next week I will have the finished photo of my new fall fireplace!
